University campus
Students beginning their academic career in the University for the first time go through a transitional period of acclimatization. This could be faster for some, and slower process for others. In order to speed up the process peer-mentors can do a lot by actually pro-actively taking their mentorees to places on-campus (showing them around) that need to be memorized. We invite you to host your weekly meetings at different locations on-campus if the weather permits it (for example: meeting in common area than walking around a few locations significant to first year students.)First year students tend to particularly be interested in:
- where classrooms are
- names of relevant lecture halls
- where student center is located
- where the gym is located
- on-campus library is housed
- where a student can study on-campus
- where administrative service-offices are located (appointed student secretariat work)
- where additional university buildings are located off-campus
- where to find emergency (medical, safety and security services) offices
