University citizen

Our university campus is professionally, culturally diverse and vibrant community. Rules and regulations apply to all students as well as to faculty and staff. Hence belonging to this community comes with benefits along with obligations that freshmen should be aware and introduced to by mentors via prescribed reading of various relevant information among them the ethical guideline book accessible via this link.

In recent years the university's ethical guidebook (code of ethics) has been seriously revised and expanded due to incidences occurring on/off-campus. As a mentor we ask you to review these documents prior to your meeting with a mentee and raise awareness so you can discuss topics such as:

- bullying/mobbing and how students experiencing such unwanted behavior may be reported
- how to handle potential conflicts with fellow students or faculty members
- how to lower health risks of contamination - taking and handling personal electronic devices/books/tools in surgical areas
- academic honesty (the academic consequences of cheating or plagiarism)
- how social media should be handled when it comes personal comments/information sharing
- what ethical considerations apply to bringing an pet animal to the campus or in classrooms.
- what type of traditions there are when it comes to clothing (dress codes/preferences)
