Eighth (final) week activities
As the SAM-buddy mentoring program is coming to the end this week we invite you to discuss all questions your buddy may feel not clear about. We also ask you to reflect on what your mentee deemed super useful during the past weeks. Ask him/her to share her thoughts/feelings about the past eight weeks. It is a feedback to you that you can build onto as well helps your mentee exit the program on a high note (with a little more confidence, more knowledge, and certainly more integrated member of our campus life and academia.Topics to explore this week:
1.) Ask your buddy to collect and bring forth all the questions he/she feel unclear or uncertain about - relevant to her academic success.
2.) Talk about what your peer-buddy may need in the future. Remind him/her to seek out all the opportunities to meet people he/she has met in the mentoring program. Use his/her connections when something is needed.
2.) Remind your buddy to fill in the exit-questionnaire evaluating the program and a survey that measures his/her knowledge on various campus information. Scores will be compared with those who did not participate in the program to see the effectiveness of the program.
Fun activity ideas for the week:
Have a coffee/lunch together if arrangable and order a food item that is traditionally Hungarian, take a photo of it along with yourselves.
Mental framing for mentors - a deeper understanding of the final week.
